Captain Craig Lahr

As with most diehard fisherman I started at an early age. Growing up on the Indian Rocks Pier I learned quickly that the "Oldtimers" were vast with knowledge. They took me under their wings and shared that much needed knowledge. In 1985 Hurricane Elena took away my favorite fishing pier and with it the informal educational sessions I so enjoyed. I moved to later work as a mate on a commercial fishing vessel. In my spare time I fished off piers and the flats.

Then I met an excellent local fisherman by the name of Kenny Krohl who introduced me to "Light Tackle Sport Fishing". I learned the finer points of fly fishing and light tackle. Kenny holds several IGFA World Records on a fly rod and light gear. I have made the backwater estuaries my second home.

Captain Craig has qualified for the IGFA World Record Kingfish on fly 6 pound tippet. Also has become an IGFA certified captain, as well as being placed in the IGFA Hall of Fame.

Captain Justin Curd

My name is Capt. Justin Curd and like most I started fishing at a young age. I was born in Oklahoma and started fishing with my father and grandfather in the river and lakes. I moved here to Florida at a young age and quickly became interested in learning the local waters. I fished with a couple local fishing guides but it wasn't until I met a local Captain by the name of Craig Lahr that I was able to learn the finer points and techniques of shallow water flats fishing.

By far Capt. Craig was the most experienced and informative guide I had fished with. Capt. Craig took me under his wing and taught me all there is to know about our local and surrounding waters of the Clearwater and Tampa Bay area.

 I began running charters with Capt. Craig as his deckhand at the age of 15 on weekends and times I was out of school. This gave me a better insight not only of the fishing aspect, but also to how the fishing charter business works. I ran as Capt. Craig's deckhand up until the age of 18 when I was able to go through sea school and get my captains license. Now at age 20 I am a part owner in Skinny Water Charters
