Now that it’s been about 2 weeks since the arctic cold fronts, Redfish have finally started to feed. With extreme low water, the Reds have been tailing in potholes where the water is a few inches deeper. Live pinfish or grunts under a popping cork or soft plastic shrimp in dark colors have worked the best for the reds and trout. The best tides have been the end of the out going tide and the last part of the incoming tide. Most Trout are also working these same areas in depths of 18ins to 3ft of water. These are the bigger fish from 18 to 24 inches. The deeper flats have held bigger numbers of Trout, from 13 to 15 inch fish. There is a lot more fish in the 3-5 foot depth on the drop offs on the flats. The redfish have been in the 20in to 24in with a few studs being over the slot. Till next time tight lines
