Where to find the Tarpon
With the extremely warm winter this year in Clearwater, the tarpon have shown up a few weeks early. We are starting to see good numbers of Tarpon migrating North from Tampa Bay to Tarpon Springs out on the West Central beaches.
Tarpon Bait for 2020
Best baits for the live bait fishermen are threadfin herring, horse eye pilchards and pinfish free lined or under a cork.
Fly Fishing Tarpon Tips
For the fly enthusiast the tarpon are up on the bars in honeymoon, Caladesi, 3 Rucker and Anclote Key. Best flies are black and purple Tarpon toad or chartreuse or multiple Bait fish patterns.
