Skinny Water Charters Inshore Fishing of Indian Rocks Beach (IRB) and Clearwater, FL

“I told Craig I wanted to go catching not fishing and that’s what we did! About 25 fish in 4 hours. Fantastic guide. He knows everything there is to know about fishing and the environment. Even saw porpoises, a bull shark, and a family of manatee. I wish I could go again tomorrow!”

“Had a great trip with Captain Craig of Skinny Water Charters.
A lot of great fish. Trout, Red Fish, Grass Grouper and a nice bonnet head for fun. Quality gear, plenty of live bait and an expert guide. Couldn’t ask for more.”

A True Fishing Guide | Clearwater

What’s the difference between a clearwater fishing guide & a charter captain? Anyone can go out and pass a test to get a Captains license. However, not everyone is truly considered a ‘guide’. A is someone who truly knows how to fish the area. From having the right equipment, boat, waterway knowledge to knowing what is biting on a summers morn vs. a winters eve and what bait to use in each scenario. Captain Craig Lahr of Skinny Water Charters is a true, ‘Clearwater Fishing Guide’.

Best Guide/Charter Boat in Clearwater

“I’ve been in the fishing business for 38 years of those, 23 as a full-time guide. This experience, in my eyes makes me one of the best charter boat captains in the Clearwater / Tampa Bay area. From 1982 thru 1995 I worked with several different captains on many different vessels. Each of which were the best at their craft.” Capt’ Craig Lahr, Skinny Water Charters

What our recent charter boat fishing clients are saying

“Capt Craig will be my go to guy every time I visit the Tampa and Clearwater area. Knowledgeable and works hard to make sure you have a great trip.

Shared some of his 25 plus years tips and secrets. Showed us a few knots. Used a couple different techniques to make sure we all caught fish. Even cleaned the fish and recommended an inexpensive restaurant to cook them for us.”

Orrie Tucker

“Spent half day fishing with Captain Craig. He was great with my 8 yr old grandson. He was well prepared and knowledgeable. Made it for a great time.”

Big news finally redfish and trout will open at midnight on May 31st after a 3 and a half year closure so we finally get to harvest fish for our clients to enjoy . The Tarpon have shown up on the West Central Beaches from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs. These fish are in good numbers. The best time to target these brawlers is from daybreak to around 10 AM as well as the minors and majors of the tides throughout the rest of the day. due to excessive boat traffic off the beaches I prefer the early start being as summer vacation starts in June lots of jet skis and boats are everywhere The Tarpon have been ranging from 80 to 150 Lbs and is just started this will get even better as we enter the full moon at the end of May and June is the high point as well as July for tarpon and the Clearwater West Central beaches of Pinellas CountyNow is the time to book your trip for the thrill that only the King can bring.Redfishing has been strong on the flats. These bulldogs are feeding on whitebait and cut threadfins and ladyfish. The average fish are ranging from 24 to 30 inches.Snook are up and down the beaches and in the passes. White bait has been the bait of choice to coax these weary fish into feeding. Fish ranging from 5 to 20 Lbs. has been the norm. ... See MoreSee Less
